With you on our side, we are working hard to remove deadly threats, such as ineffective shark nets along the NSW and QLD coastlines, abandoned fishing equipment and plastic pollution in our ocean, and industrial krill fishing in Antarctica.
This January, we will be returning to the Southern Ocean to shine a light on industrial krill fishing and the horrifying impact it has on not only Humpback whales, but on Fin whales, Chinstrap penguins, Fur seals and numerous other marine animals who rely on krill as their primary food source.

- A single Humpback whale song can last for 30 mins and a series of songs can last for hours. It has been suggested that a low-frequency song can travel up to 16,000 kms and Humpback whales in Australia have been found singing the same song as their counterparts in Ecuador.
- It is only the male Humpback who sings. He sings to attract a mate and to communicate with other males.
- Mothers nurse their calves for almost a year and while swimming, the mumma Humpback often keeps in constant contact with her baby.
- The average length of a Humpback whale is equal to 5-storey building.
- The pattern on a Humpback’s fluke (tail) is as unique as our own fingerprints.
